The format of EV India Summit was devised and constructed after a six month long intense research. More than a challenge it was a quest, an appetite for disruption to establish an exemplary gathering with phenominal implications. The two day summit was branched into 6 themes, segregated strategically to fit in the right Subject Matter Expert aligned to the broadly classified themes.
Our Principal Supporting Partner, NITI Aayog enlightened us with the objectives and the most critical elements that need to be addressed from an Indian context, which enabled us to formulate THE AGENDA, which eventually turned to be the exigency for all our participants. The Summit was also powered by key inputs from our Esteemed Supporting Partners: Department of Heavy Industry, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Sector Enterprises (DHI); Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME); Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI); National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency - (Invest India); Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL); Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV); India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) and Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE).
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) which has developed an indigenous lithium-ion battery technology widely used in powering satellites, had announced earlier this year about this technology being made available to private players in the automotive industry. It was an honour to have a senior representative speak about the details of Li-ion technology developed by ISRO and how this can be a cost-effective solution for developing the EV sector in India. Details of the "RFQ" and how to avail the same were also presented at the EV India Summit.
The event featured over 25+ regional and international experts carrying decades of experience all the way from formulating the EV Policies till its success. Internationally acclaimed speakers from Australia, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, United Kingdom, United States of America and Switzerland, who also represent their Government Organizations presented some unique and real-life case-studies which has helped them to implement rapid adoption of Electric Vehicles by ways of policies, strategies, subsidies and public promotions.
The event also provided a platform to the state governments to attract investors and manufacturers to their respective states by showcasing their EV friendly policies. We had the privilege of hosting Maharashtra and Telangana State Governments and giving them the platform to present their investment and manufacturing friendly policies. Considering the gathering of highest decision makers for an Electric Vehicle Summit, the Maharashtra State Government represented by the Dr. Harshdeep Kamble, IAS, Honorable Commissioner - Industries Department unveiled their Electric Vehicle Policy for the first time in an open forum and at this summit.
Having gathered over 350+ industry experts and key stakeholders who will be the pillars for EV Momentum in India, the Electric Vehicles Summit 2018 is considered as one of the best networking platform for stakeholder engagements. The event also gathered over 25+ sponsors who solely used this platform to demonstrate their offerings, present their capabilities and showcase their strengths & technologies and get closer to business.
Determined to create peer to peer interactions between stakeholders during the event, the event format ensured this was achieved. Apart from presenting an insightful and compelling presentations, our regional and international speakers took more than five questions each and ensured to provide best in class responses which could be implemented. The event had dedicated networking breaks which provided the vendors/solution providers an opportunity to showcase their offerings and get connected to potential business clients.
